Getting lost on a trail

Happy Monday everyone! I have not been keeping with any regular fitness but  this past weekend, I woke up with an urge to go to Eisenhower Park.  It is my favorite since it has a tower overlooking the city.  It turned out to come with a lot of wrong turns lol.

It had been some time since the last time we went to this park.  It has varying trails with one paved trail for those needing wheelchair access.  When we got there, that was the goal, find the trail with the paved trail.

We kept missing it, and ended up on the HILLIEST trail.  At about halfway we realized that we were not headed towards the paved trail.  We kept going and got to the top.  Only to find out that the tower closed.  As disappointing as that was, we all still had lots of fund and lots of laughs.

I took this opportunity to remind our teen that while we might have taken a wrong turn, turning back in the middle would have been more disappointing that continuing up to the top.

That’s just life sometimes, we miss the “easy” road to the top, but instead of backtracking to find it we just gotta keep moving forward.   And yes it sucked pushing the stroller uphill, it was quite the disaster but we survived.  And we are much stronger as a family (with lots of fun memories).
